Dana Cupp
Bluegrass artist extraordinaire Dana Cupp has been something of a torch on several instruments, heating up the still-active bands of senior bluegrass statesmen such as Bill Monroe or the Osborne Brothers, with whom Cupp has been playing guitar since the late '90s, alongside other veterans such as Leon Rhodes.
Cupp was known as Monroe's last banjo player, frequently going to Nashville even though his home was in Michigan.
Cupp remains committed to the Michigan bluegrass scene. Cupp has also performed with a variety of bluegrass bands including the Wildwood Valley Boys, Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys, and Pinetop.
Today, Cupp plays with Bobby Osborne and the Rocky Top X-Press, along with his other bluegrass projects.
He plays the Recording King Osborne Scout, the model designed by one his mentor, friend and inspiration, Sonny Osborne.
