Jonathan Devoto

My name is Jonathan Devoto. I've been a professional musician for over fifteen years, playing in bands as a singer and guitarist, locally and across the world. While playing guitar is my biggest passion, I'm also a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and instructor. Having played larger venues like The Warfield and The Fillmore, as well as more intimate settings such as weddings, wineries, and private events, I feel at home performing in any environment. I truly love playing music, which is why I bring the same energy and enthusiasm to any performance. Some of the bands I've played in are THE MATCHES, FINISH TICKET, MR. KIND, and BIRD BY BIRD. Most recently, I performed as a frontman providing live music for THE KNOT's Dream Wedding.

As a solo performer, I play tasteful and dynamic renditions of well known songs from a wide range of genres and eras, primarily on clean electric guitar (sometimes looping chord rhythms and improvising), in addition to acoustic guitar. My cover repertoire includes: Al Green, Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, The Beatles, Jason Mraz, Etta James, Beethoven, Louis Armstrong, Huey Lewis, Adele, Jimi Hendrix, The Temptations, Maroon 5, Erik Satie, Gotye, and more.

I'm primarily interested and best suited for playing weddings, wineries, and other private events. My set as a solo act is performed mostly on clean electric guitar, which many find to be a welcome breath of fresh air from the typical acoustic performer. When appropriate, I can also bring along a backing band for a variety of situations - jazz trio, string accompanists, pianist, rock band, or nearly any other configuration.

Other services I offer include: wireless microphone rental for ceremony, officiant, and toasts; MC; DJ. I truly enjoy and take pride in providing the sound and entertainment for your entire wedding, and creating a fun atmosphere for the night.

I'm very communicative with my clients to make sure that I provide the right ambiance for your event. Planning a wedding or any private event can be an overwhelming and stressful experience for you - rest assuring knowing that you can lean on my experience as a performer and perfectionist. From building the right song list, to dressing to match the event theme, I go above and beyond to make the music and sound for your event just right!

I can provide the proper sound equipment for a wide variety of events. I have a battery-powered amp for smaller (less than 100 people) events, two twelve-inch speakers for mid-size events (100-200 people), and two fifteen-inch speakers and full sound system for larger events (up to 400 people). I also have a variety of wireless and wired microphones available for rental.

I take my career as a musician very seriously and take pride in having a professional attitude and strong work ethic, while still having fun. I understand that choosing a musician to create the right energy for your event is important, and I feel confident that I can meet and exceed your needs and expectations!
